Director of Special Events
Morgan holds a Bachelor of Music magna cum laude in Voice Performance from Boston University College of Fine Arts. He is the Director of Music at Stratford Street United Church in West Roxbury, where he leads a program of professional and volunteer musicians and has written and premiered multiple original hymns. He also works as Director of Special Events for MassOpera. He previously spent a summer as the Program Coordinator for the Young Artist Vocal Program at Boston University Tanglewood Institute and worked as the Student Manager of Admission Ambassadors for Boston University School of Music, building a new program of student volunteers to assist admissions staff.
Tenor Morgan Chalue's recent credits include Dr. Blind in Die Fledermaus (Boston University Tanglewood Institute Young Artists Opera Intensive), Don Curzio in Le Nozze di Figaro (Opera del West), Lillas Pastia in La Tragédie de Carmen (BU Opera Institute), Older Brother in Dead Man Walking (Boston Opera Collaborative), Bill in A Hand of Bridge (BU Opera Workshop), Jenik and Vaclav covers in Die Bauer ein Schelm (Calliope), and ensemble in Dimitrij (Odyssey Opera), Cendrillon and Don Giovanni (BU Opera Institute) and Cossack Beyond the Danube (Commonwealth Lyric Theater). Morgan attended the Up North Vocal Institute in 2014 where he performed scenes from The Bartered Bride, Martha, and The Most Happy Fella, and he has appeared frequently as a soloist with the Boston University Singers.
